Catchphrases

We often hear the phrase " inalienable rights ". I wonder. Who's rights? Are they determined putting God's will first, or instead the will of mankind or just your own? Sadly, the majority stand up for the latter two more often than not, and then use God to justify it.

A lot of Christians believe it is their worldly right to stand up for what they believe in the world, but should it not first apply to what God has said? God first, rather than what suits us or what we say or use from God's word to self justify our worldly ventures. Question this self serving attitude and a common rebuttal is, "If you don't stand up for something, you'll fall for anything."

Precisely, but 'something' what? Kingdom or world of man? "1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." Fruits. Do they proclaim love yet personally find fault with their fellow man, especially when it relates to their own "religious" outlook? (1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.) (Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.)

As said, a lot of Christians believe it is their worldly right to stand up for what they believe, but it seems to me that should first apply to believing what God has said rather than what the world has taught us, what suits us personally, or what we say or use from God's word to justify our worldly ventures.

The failure of mankind has been to continually determine for self what is best for self, regardless of the effect on others. It does not follow the commandment "Love thy neighbour as thyself". Promoting strife within the world is not the same as promoting strife between the world and the Kingdom; something not often recognized by those saying Lord, Lord.
