See if they get arrested as the already renewed "buy Californication season 6" continues Sundays at 10:30 p.m. EST on Showtime.
As preparation for his movie that is most definitely not "Beverly Hills Cop," Samurai Apocalypse was invited on a ride-along with the local police on "Californication" (Sun., 10:30 p.m. EST on Showtime). He cajoled Hank, as his writer, to join him on the ride-along and Charlie weaseled his own way in to fulfill a childhood dream. But it's unlikely his dream went like this ride-along did.
In a very meta moment for however many fans of "buy Californication box set 6" happen to also be fans of MTV's bizarre "Death Valley" comedy series, the officer they tagged along with was played by Bryan Callen. Callen is the captain of the Undead Task Force on that series, taking out werewolves, zombies and vampires. But he brought almost that same level of lunacy to his portrayal here.
With the officer out of commission, the surreality of the episode didn't end. Sam decided instead to steal the cop car, with Hank and Charlie still riding along. They got into all sorts of trouble -- and Charlie was traumatized as usual -- until the episode ended with a real officer pulling them over after they offered a ride to Bates, off on a nude run through town.
