The basic rule of interpretation - Scripture Interprets Scripture and not historical or world events as events and history changes. I do not have to go outside the bible to find out what this book means. All sixty six books link up in many ways and have much in common.Chapter 1 Verse 3
The promise of God's blessing is firstly to the 1st century reader,but also to everyone of any age that will read, hear and keep what is written in it.So if it was for the future then it could not be a blessing for those believersTO BLESS THEM ALL, THE INTERPRETATION OF THIS BOOK HAD TO MEET THEM WHERE THEY WERE LIVING. IT HAD TO STRENGTHEN AND ENCOURAGE THEM IN THEIR PRESENT PERSECUTION
