Blessed this day (June 28, 2005)

I thank God, my Heavenly Father for continuing to bless me in small ways, each and everyday. I went to lunch with my sister this afternoon and we had some of the most amazing conversations. We talked a lot about the past and the way we had to grow up and how we had absolutly nothing, but the whole time God watched over us, guided us and made us who we are today. I thank God for the chance I have had and am having in getting to know my sister. We are still getting to know one another from the extended vacation I took from family for like 9 / 10 years, never talking because of differences and problems that plagued the family and I just wanted out and away. I praise God that those times are done and I can know my sister. After we met she dropped off a box at the house for me that was from my grandparents house, just some things they set aside for me. When I got home tonight I was curious as to what was in there. I found quite a few toboggans that were my grandfathers, which is awesome to me because I remember him wearing them in the winter time. There was a photo album of my old wedding pics, which will go in the closet or something and a copy of the DVD that was played at my grandmothers funeral. But the thing that was the most touching and that I was the most shocked about was my grandfathers Bible. I just stared at it in awe and amazement because I thought that I wouldn't be able to have this, and now I do and I thank you Jesus. In the front of the Bible my grandmother had written, "My dear Husband, may you enjoy this book for many years to come. Love, Fredia." and it was dated Dec. 25, 1973. This is the same Bible my grandfather used to lead morning devotionals, every morning without fail. Even if I was traveling with them cross country and camping at KOA Stations, this Book was there. I am so completely touched and know that I can not fully explain the joy I have in my heart to have this close to me.
