Blessed are the Persecuted

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:10-12

For the last few months, my husband and I have been experiencing persecution.

Persecution comes in many ways, shapes and forms. Not all Christians who are persecuted, are tortured and martyred.

I have, in the past, been told that I am crazy for believing in Jesus Christ; I've had family members totally reject me for my faith.

Lately, a few members of my husband's family have been harrassing and trying to harm us because we are Christians.

My brother-in-law, who is very close to my husband, has become very sick because of their multiple harrassements against him and us.

For the last month and a half, he has been attending at our church on Sundays on his own. He comes because he wants to.

Now, 3 (even 4) of the family-in-law members who are causing us trouble, have laughed behind our backs because of our faith in Jesus. They've been ridiculizing us in a disrespectful manner. Lately, they have started seeing us as some threat or something.

One of my brothers-in-law told the brother-in-law who is very close to my husband and who comes to church with us, to be very careful with my husband...

"Be very careful with him...."
As if my DH was dangerous... They (those 3, even 4 troublemakers) see us as a real threat because they believe we are trying to brainwash the brother-in-law we are very close to and helping as well as their sister who is mentally ill. They also think we are trying to bring the said brother-in-law and sister-in-law against them... (We're weird big meanies...)

"Are they (my DH and I) trying to convert you into their 'thing'?"
They believe that we're in a sect or something... Most people believe this over here anyways... so they're not the first ones. But... if they only knew! Our 'thing' is the Gospel of grace of Jesus-Christ!

They fear we're sectarians trying to imprison the beloved brother-in-law into 'our sect'... :sigh:

These 3 don't want my dear husband to take care of their Alzheimer's mother and intellectually deficient sister cuz, well... cuz he's dangerous to them!

They hate anything related to church in every way, shape and form. They hate God. They are the disciples of the enemy of our souls and behave just like him. Exactly.

May God have mercy on their soul!

As for DH and I, our faith is getting stronger and stronger. We are not going to let the enemy win! And these 3 will eventually come face to face with themselves and all the wrong they keep doing against us... and I pray they come face to face with God!

They hate us because of our faith and cause us much and incessant harm because of it. They are saying all kinds of lies regarding us and they believe those so strongly that they are driven by them. They are driven by a Satanic hate against us, the children of God.

May they come to know the Lord's merciful grace and may their eyes be opened! I'll take prayers for them by any prayer warrior over here.

We're in a real war - a spiritual war! This is real.

I am not surprised this is happening; it's only the beginning too.

We are called to take up our Cross to follow Jesus; Jesus told us that we would be persecuted for our faith in Him. He commanded us to rejoice because of that. If we are being persecuted and accused falsely because of Him, we are blessed and happy.

Praise the Lord!
