Beware Of Tradition

Some traditions are hard to fight
Men lean on what they find
Too oft a child can’t see the light
Where blind still lead the blind

A church may seem to be alive
Unknown to them their sin
God’s child within can’t learn to thrive
Tradition’s binds them in

Women without a hat in there
May find to speak no place
Yet Christ may use her anywhere!
If when she’s sought His face

Tradition oft has Paul in view
Through fragments which they quote
Unknown the truth God’s servant knew
When he His letters wrote

Beware traditions become the law
A church could lose her Flame
God’s Spirit will never use the door
Where Christ can’t place His name

Tradition’s oft cancer, which grows so quick
From man to man yet spread
It keeps us bound makes people sick
If not cast out oft dead!!

Weigh up tradition when it calls
The bad could seep inside
To creep like mildew in your walls
And make you Satan’s bride

Let no tradition pull you down
From such rise up and go
Go where in Christ you’ll find life’s crown
And where in truth you’ll grow……
