Proverbs 12:4
A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.
I can be a crown? How lovely! Wives are representations of their husbands. It is very important for women to think about this before they get married. I watch way too much reality TV and see so many women who just aren’t good. They don’t behave as a married woman should, they don’t treat their husbands they way the should, they talk poorly about their husbands. These are terrible things that no wife should ever do. It is damaging to him and their marriage. Part of having noble character is being trustworthy. Based on your current behavior can your future husband trust you? Will you be his crown? Will you treat him with all the love and respect he deserves? I hope so, if not, it’s probably not the right time to get married.
Lets branch out a little bit more shall we? Not only does your husband need to trust you with his business, but he needs to trust you with his kingdom. Your little nuggets represent both of you, so when they act out it is on both of you. A lady must do her part to raise children on the right path in order to honor her husband.
You home is a representation of both of you. Keep a beautiful home that he feels comfortable coming back to every night. After a long day of what ever he does he will need some time to unwind. Is the place he is getting comfortable your home or the local watering hole? I want my future husband to be at the dinner table every night with his family and have the opportunity to unwind here. Which means I will need to keep a nice home and well behaved children so he will be comfortable after going out and taking care of business.
Be the crown. Plenty of guys these days like to show off their gals. Who has the cuter girlfriend, the better girlfriend, and the nicer girlfriend? Unfortunately it seems these things don’t stop after marriage. They may even get worse. So we must always remember to behave according to how our future husbands would want. We must always remember to honor them and be the girl they are proud to call their wife.
Dear Lord,
Please help me to be the queen to my future husband. Help me to honor him and be of noble character as you have called me to be in order to be the crown for my husband.
Thank you for your blessings
Amen
