Matt 18:34 And his master became angry and delivered him to the torturers until he would repay all that was owed. (35) So also will My heavenly Father do to you if each of you does not forgive his brother from your hearts. Heb 8:12 For I will be propitious to their unrighteousness, and their sins I shall by no means remember anymore.
We all must learn to forgive others, something that none of us enjoys doing. Deep within our heart, we do not want to forgive others.
It’s hard for people to forgive when someone offends us, we want to hang on to that offense and bring it up every time that person does something we don’t like.
But when we ask God to forgive us of our offense to him Micah 7:19 tells us that he (God) casts our sins into the depths of the sea. So then I ask the question are we better then God? You ask ok, Chaplain that’s not a fair question. And I will tell you are right it’s not, why though? Because we are human, we are finite in our thinking when someone offends us we can bring it to instant recall. But I tell you this “We may not be able to forget a trespass against us, but if we are faithful for forgive them, we will never bring up the offense again. Total forgiveness means that we never speak of the offense to them or anyone else again. Are you better them God? We can all honestly say “no I am not better then God.” If he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, we should also be faithful to forgive,[FONT='Times New Roman','serif'][/FONT]
