We are to be manifested as the sons of God to this dying, dark world. We are to hold forth the Word of life in this dark time. We are to preach the good news...the gospel...unto ALL of the world.
The good news: our Savior Jesus Christ has abolished….rendered idle….death in the here and NOW. He has NOW brought life and undecaying to light through the good news.
If we believe in Him, we shall not PERISH away to the grave but shall have His life being manifest in our mortal bodies as we shall continue to stand in the here and NOW by the power of God.
2 Timothy 1:8-11 KJV
(8) Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
(9) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
(10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
(11) Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
We are to be changed into the same image of the glory of the Lord. We are to be transformed….moving from glory to glory as we behold Him…always keeping His perfect law of liberty. His life within shall appear outwardly so that we may preach to the world….for Jesus died for the sins of the world also.
2 Corinthians
(18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
(1) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
We are to renounce the hidden things of dishonesty….not walking in craftiness…not handling the Word of God deceitfully as many do. Many preach themselves…seeking their glory from men….while they seek dishonest gain.
(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
But if this good news be hid, it is hid to them that are lost….that is, to those who are PERISHING in their mortal bodies. They are perishing away to the grave because covetousness which blinds their minds to the Truth. They suppose gain is godliness…..let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die as they say. Let us not join in their abominable revelry which is after the covetousness of men. Let us depart from them or be consumed in their iniquity. If we do not abide in Him, we WITHER….we PERISH…we are LOST as we burn in the fire.
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
They are in unbelief of what is plainly being said. Because they say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, they know not that they are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. The good news is hid from them. They are blind leaders leading the blind. But they are counseled to hear the wisdom of God and REPENT…change their minds. Be transformed by the renewing of our mind.
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
We are to be transformed into the image of God by the Light of the glorious good news of Christ. His Light shines in the darkness of our hearts and gives the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the FACE of Jesus Christ. We are to be transformed into His image.
We have this treasure in earthen vessels….in these weak, fleshly bodies that are liable to die…so that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us. He uses our weak mortal bodies to shine forth His glory and power and we can preach effectively to the world His gospel. We have the "great commission" to show forth His Word of life.
Christ in us shall shine outwardly….from glory to glory.
(6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the faceof Jesus Christ.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Proverbs 4:18 KJV
(18) But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Christ….the wisdom of God who interprets the Scriptures for us…makes our faces to shine by His Light and the harsh strength of our face is being changed.
Ecclesiastes 8:1-2 KJV
(1) Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
We are to take heed on how we hear. We are to keep His commandment to have love for all….even though “strangers” may speak something “strange” that does not conform to our preconceived religious beliefs, thoughts and ways. Let use entertain strangers for they may be His messengers as they speak with His Spirit…with His breath…the Word. Let us keep His commandment.
(2) I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.
He shall deliver us from those who have deceived us. Like as a lion, they have been greedy for the prey. As a young lion lurking in secret places have they devoured many with their deceptive words. They are men of this world which have their portion in this life……
Psalms 17:11-15 KJV
(11) They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
(12) Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
(13) Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:
(14) From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
But as for those who will hear and do His Word, we shall behold His face in righteousness. We shall be satisfied when we shall “awake” out of our “sleep” and cast off the works of darkness. We shall “awake” with His likeness….being transformed into His image in the here and now.
(15) As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
FROM my flesh shall I see God…as we are to be transformed into His image.
Job 19:25-27 KJV
(25) For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
(26) And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
(27) Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Because of sins, the show of our faces do witness against us. We have rewarded evil unto ourselves.
Isaiah 3:8-9 KJV
(8) For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
(9) The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
Our sins testify against us for our transgression are with us and as for our iniquities, we know them.
Isaiah 59:11-17 KJV
(11) We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
(12) For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
(13) In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
MANY walk toward their own destruction as they mind the earthly things. Their glory is in their shame…their disfigurement. Many walk as enemies of the cross of Christ for they will not refrain their tongues from speaking deceit nor from speaking evil. No deceit was found in the mouth of Jesus.
Philippians 3:17-21 KJV
(17) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(18) (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
(19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Our “conversation” is in “heaven”…our behavior is in the air. We are to always keep His commandments….having love for one another. We are not to use our words for deceit nor evil. We shall be transformed….changed…transfigured into His image if we do not faint in well doing. It is His working that shall transform us.
(20) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
(21) Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
To them who by PATIENT continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and undecaying…. “eternal life” in the here and now as we are to be transformed by His power into His image.
Romans 2:7 KJV
(7) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
We reap what we sow. If we sow after the flesh in our covetousness, envying and strife and hatred of one another, then we reap DECAY in our flesh…in our mortal bodies. But if we continue in well doing….sowing to the Spirit, we shall reap His life within our flesh in due season. We need to be PATIENT unto the coming of our Lord.
Galatians 6:7-10 KJV
(7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
(8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Let us do good unto ALL…..
(10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
The preaching of the cross to them that PERISH is foolishness.
1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
(18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
We are to follow His steps….for He suffered on the cross for us. He did no sin…..He did not revile when reviled….He did not threaten when threatened as they crucified Him. NO DECEIT was also found in His mouth.
1 Peter 2:21-25 KJV
(21) For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
(22) Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
(23) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
(24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
We are not to be weary in well doing….for he that will love life and see good days shall refrain His tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. The preaching of the cross of Jesus is foolishness to those who are perishing away in their sins….for they will not refrain their tongues from evil. Their religion is in vain.
1 Peter 3:8-12 KJV
(8) Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
(9) Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
(10) For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
(11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
(12) For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
