Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 4:53 a.m. – I woke from a dream, so I was thinking about the dream and was praying, asking the Lord if this was of him, i.e. something he wanted me to get up and write down. I did sense that I should write, but then I realized I didn’t have a song in my head. Just then, this song came to mind:
Were It Not for Grace / Larnelle Harris
Time measured out my days
Life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God
But knew I’d never be so strong
I looked hard at this world
To learn how heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began
Where human effort is all in vain
Were it not for grace
I can tell you where I’d be
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me
I know how that would go
The battles I would face
Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace
So here is all my praise
Expressed with all my heart
Offered to the Friend who took my place
And ran a course I could not even start
And when He saw in full
Just how much His love would cost
He still went the final mile between me and heaven
So I would not be lost
Were it not for grace…
THE DREAM (S): I gave two bags to someone(s) – a black bag one and a brown one, I believe. From inside the brown one, someone pulled out a baby’s doll that looked like an angel – I’ve seen these in the baby section of the store before. END
Dream Two: There were two people who broke into my apartment. I was upstairs in the bathroom and then in the bedroom and I never heard them enter. Then I came downstairs and saw one of them - a woman I did not recognize - in my stuff. She was standing at a dresser or buffet that was against a wall on the left side and at the base of the stairs. She was going through some kind of kit that I got from my hairdresser. The other person was standing back in the doorway. I think they were managers of the apartment complex. She (or they) also got into eye shadow that was mine, I believe, and she put her fingers in it and applied it to her eyes. I was grossed out that her (their) fingers were in there. There seemed to be something about what they were doing that was underhanded, sneaky and devious. END
Dream Three: There was something in here about me sharing my dreams and explanations with my husband so that one day, when I could not speak (mute), he would know what the symbols meant. Then, I showed him yesterday’s dream, but how I sensed it did not fit with the scripture from yesterday (Revelation 3:7-13).
Yesterday’s Dream: There was a cord of some kind stretched lengthwise across a table – looked like an infant’s changing table or examination table at a doctor’s office. There was a sense of danger that this cord was going to be cut off between someone and Jesus. END I woke, wondering if this was a reference to a telephone cord, i.e. a symbol of communication, or if it was a reference to an umbilical cord, i.e. a symbol of relationship (lifeline) with Jesus Christ. Since the scripture was about an open door that no one could shut, I was not seeing how this dream fit.
Dream Four: There was an older couple with grey hair who had split up, but then they worked on getting back together. Then, I saw them back together, so I went over to both of them and I kissed them individually on their foreheads.
They were moving into an apartment similar to mine (from dream two), which had to be entered through a door from the outside of the building and then by ascending some stairs. But, then they became my son, John and his wife, Faith. [John means “YAHWEH is gracious” and Faith means simply “faith.”] Our oldest son, David, was helping them to move into the apartment. [David means “Beloved of God.”]
The managers of the apartment building asked me something about the couple’s credit. I seemed to indicate that it was determined on a day to day basis. END Credit – praise; recognition; acclaim; thanks; acknowledgment; and/ or standing.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Revelation 3:7-13 again:
To the Church in Philadelphia
7"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. 11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. 13He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
