Amazing (August 16, 2005)

Last night God showed Himself to me in a very interesting way. I went to Waffle House around midnight. I ordered my food and after it came out I prayed to Him that He plant me where He needs me to be and if there is an opportunity what-so-ever for me to be a vessel for Him, to let it happen. Not even 2 minutes later, a guy that I have known for a while came in and told me he saw me and thought he would come in and talk with me for a sec and eat. I invited him to join me and that it was alright to sit and eat with me. In no time at all, our conversation was about Christ and where each other stood. I knew then that God was allowing me to be a vessel for Him at that moment. Things like this aren't coincidence, it's purely purpose. He was interested to know what I was thinking and what I felt and why I felt the way I did. He wanted to know what I thought about his agnosticism, and I told him that I didn't judge him what-so-ever, but that I was honestly concerned for him and his salvation...that I understood where he was coming from with his feelings about the church and the "christians" that surround him. As our conversations progressed, I just listened to his words and his heart as he reflected upon things in his life and past relationships, religion growing up and his switch to his current belief. I don't know what will happen, but I am just thankful that God saw an opportunity and opened it up to me.
I am so thankful that God has blessed me with these opportunities and that He allows me to be unashamed of Him and speak so freely of Him. I pray for this friend of mine that he finds what he is looking for and finds the answers to the questions I had no clue in answering. I pray that God continues to press upon his heart and that his keeps asking questions and keeps seeking Jesus Christ.
