Trouble and strife is all around
When will my problems cease?
Where is the answer to be found?
How can I find some peace?
Who can relieve this tortured mind?
How can I end my plight?
How can anxious nerves unwind?
And find some sleep at night
How many times I’ve wished to die?
Crying such bitter tears
But still the pressures multiply
Bringing these dreadful fears
Why is my life so full of stress?
Why do I find no ease?
Is it a sin I must confess?
Upon my bended knees
Is it so simple is it so plain?
Can Jesus ease my soul?
Can Jesus take away this pain?
Should God be now my goal?
Lord here I come right here right now
A wretch bound up in sin
To You my God I humbly bow
That I be cleansed within
Praying is awfully strange my God
Yet now that I’ve begun
My bowing here is not as odd
As other things I’ve done
Lord please forgive this sinful child
Please hear my troubled plea
Allow me to be reconciled
And set my spirit free
