Through wayward sin and devil bound
Through self, in Satan’s jail
Never to tread the higher ground
Always God’s grace to fail
Every nation colour and creed
God calls His children out
Through Jesus’ blood we’ve all been freed
When faith takes captive doubt
The rich, the poor, the well, the lame
The meek, the great and small
To Jesus Christ, we’re all the same
Who heed Salvation’s call
When standing firm upon the deck
Of Christ; the boat of life
No yoke will hinder round our neck
No foe can bring us strife
To glorify our risen Lord
God’s gift we’ve all received
Upon all flesh His Spirit’s poured
Let no one be deceived
It matters not what clothes we wear
Each heart the Lord can see
We all may come to God in prayer
For Christ to set us free
To help another bear their pain
Stretch forth a loving hand
What peace from God we then sustain?
What joy will fill our land?
Do not despise your neighbour’s name
Nor put another down
For God may do to you the same
And take from you life’s crown.
Through self, in Satan’s jail
Never to tread the higher ground
Always God’s grace to fail
Every nation colour and creed
