Abraham's Tithe: Part of the Salvation Puzzle

Part of the great message that I have been presenting in all of my blog posts on my website, is that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was indeed the lamb that was slain on the Cross of Calvary for our sins. Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of this world. Upon His death on the Cross, he also nailed the Law to it as well, including the precious tithe. Malachi 3:8-11 speaks of those who do not pay the tithe as being under a curse. Men seem to be perfectly fine in telling Christians that they are free from the Law but if they break this one precious law then they will be cursed, but that is not the Gospel message was that God proclaimed that will save men’s souls. No, when Christ died on the Cross, He became a curse for us, because man is now free from the Law. Every law that is broken brings a curse but Christians are no longer cursed because we are no longer under a law. We are now the children of God; adopted into his precious family. We now have a loving Father that will forever love us and never curse us and it was all because of His Son’s precious blood that He shed for us.

Now, Christ was our perfect Lamb that was offered and slain, but we also needed a Great High Priest to take that precious blood from that perfect sacrifice and sprinkle it on the Mercy Seat in the Holy Holies before our God. Without a Great High Priest, there would be no salvation for man, because the sacrifice is not complete until the precious blood is sprinkled on that Mercy Seat by a perfect Priest.

Under the Law of Moses, no man from any other tribe than the Levite could be eligible for such a position, and within that tribe the Law forbad any member from being a High Priest who was not from the lineage of Aaron. As you know, Christ was from the tribe of Judah. Christ was more than eligible to be our Lord of lords and King of kings, but he could not be our High Priest after the order of Aaron. A greater order than Aaron’s was required and that order was established by God over 500 years before Aaron was even born, and that order was the order of Melchizedek (Ps 110:4).

When Abraham paid the tithe to Melchizedek , it was paid before Abraham had any children, and therefore all his children were still yet in his loins. Melchizedek was considered greater than Abraham because Melchizedek blessed Abraham as opposed to the other way around. To seal the relationship Abraham gave Melchizedek a tithe of the spoils that he also refused to claim as his own, but he gave the tithe anyway. He did not give of his own personal wealth, because that was not required to seal this deal. Also, Abraham only needed to pay this tithe once and never had to pay it again and this is why God only recorded this tithe payment once.

Melchizedek’s priesthood was considered greater than Aaron’s because Aaron’s father Levi was still yet in the loins of his father Abraham when he paid the tithe; therefore Melchizedek’s priesthood was greater than Aaron’s.

Also, another thing you don’t seem to understand is that Abraham was a lost sinner on his way to hell when he gave this tithe to Melchizedek. This account occurred in Genesis 14, Abraham did not receive salvation until a few verses later in Genesis 15. Abraham tithed when he was lost but never tithed again after he was saved! More importantly since Abraham is considered to be the father of all those saved by faith, we can trace our spiritual lineage to him at the point of his conversion. This means, every Christian paid a tithe to Melchizedek as well, because we were still yet in the spiritual loins of our father Abraham when he paid the tithe. Since Abraham was never recorded as paying another tithe again after salvation, how can men now say that Christians are to pay a tithe now? Only a thief and a liar would demand it now.

The tithe was merely a tool used by God to accomplish His will in securing our Salvation. This account is all about the salvation of men but unfortunately, so-called men of God have chosen to use it as a source of revenue for their precious state approved non-profit religious entertainment organizations today.

The Gospel that I have been preaching has not been for filthy lucre, but the gospel that others preach, is all for it, because men have chosen to use Abraham’s tithe for the purpose of getting a steady flow of money into their offering plates.

Men today tell others that they are to trust God with their finances but these same men would never tell others to trust God with their reproductive organs. You want to find out what faith is, have a large family and then you will find out what faith is all about when it comes to finances. I love to play golf but I have several kids that need the money instead.
