A Slice of My Journey

The Samaritans call themselves
Bene-Yisrael “Children of Israel”,
or Shamerim “Observant Ones”
Hebrew: שומרונים‎ Shomronim,
Arabic: السامريون‎ as-Sāmariyyūn

The Samaritans believe the Taheb, "Restorer", will arise from the sons of Yosef, either the tribe of Ephraim or the tribe of Menashe. He will be more of a prophet, rather than a priest.

"May you be like Ephraim and Menashe".

They still have those who are descended from Levy and a High Priest who traces his lineage back 132 generations.

The combined High Priest/Leadership role was separated after Yaakov. The tribe of Levy (high priest and priests) and the tribe of Yosef (leader), were eventually represented by Eleazar (High Priest) and Yehoshua ben Nun - an Ephraimite (Leader of the whole house of Yisrael). Up to that time, this role was combined. From Adam to Noach and then Shem to Yaakov.

Moshe was a prophet. The Torah, when read as prophecy, is amazing, as MJ's know. It is my opinion, however, that as we read, we still read over things. We must pay attention, as these are the words of YHWH to Moshe. If we believe this is true, what is found in the rest of the canon should not be taken lightly. YHWH does not change. He would not present something or someone contrary to His Words to Moshe. If it's different, it's not Him talking.

So, here is the dilemma I've faced over the last couple of years. Each subsequent book, outside the Torah, should pass the test for a false prophet in order for it to hold up in the "court of Law" so to speak. The story of David does not line up with Torah. The death penalty was still in effect, as the Torah has been in effect from the foundation of the earth, the reason it wasn't carried out wasn't because YHWH changed, most likely it is because the priesthood had already been compromised by this time and was corrupt. People setting themselves up as priests and kings doesn't fit Torah.

This is where it may get difficult, as there is a lot of emotion bound up with this topic, but I ask for people not to take offense, I do not mean to offend anyone. I'm just stating where I'm at with my studies.
