  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Room on Both Sides

For the bold texts below, I insert what the Interlinear reflects, instead of their English renderings. The NKJV English translations, to which we are accustomed, are "rooms" in Psalm 91 and "dwelling place" in John 14:2. Looking at the Interlinear definitions side-by-side, one sees that the imagery could easily fit as "room" for both Scripture verses.

The OT passage shows that the Lord Almighty provides a room for his faithful during their earthly passage--as they anticipate the rooms promised for us in Glory, in the NT verse.

9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your [maon—derived from mə·‘ō·w·ne·ḵā],
10 No evil shall befall you

In My Father’s house are many [moné]; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
