  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Prayer

I subscribed to a mailing list called marriage prayers. This one is applicable to all Christians and decided to share it with you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It’s easier to soar on a mountain than it is to hike through the valley. It’s easier to worry than it is to trust. Life is full of ups and downs, and so we ask for Your strength to carry us through.

Teach us to dance in the rain. Help us to face disappointments with unwavering faith.

Your word tells us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

We know that all things work out together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.

Give us the courage to wait on that promise, and the patience to trust in Your will.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
