Torn Between Two Worlds
I start to think about all the happenings of my day,
And it’s hard to know just what to say.
I remember the moments when
I wondered if this day would e’er come to an end…
And then…and then…
Chorus:
I realize I’m torn between two different worlds –
And I know it’s not worth desiring what this earth holds.
I remember the message in God’s Holy Word,
One I’ve often heard,
That if I meet God in His sanctuary, I’ll choose Jesus over silver or gold.
But sometimes in the moment it’s hard to see
That this earth is out to deceive,
And I’ve just got to look to heaven and…believe.
I sit here, with pen, by a dim light,
Wondering what I should write,
When the Holy Spirit comes to my aid, with heavenly insight.
I remember the moments when
I closed my eyes and counted to ten,
To see if my surroundings would change again. Oh-h-h!
(Chorus.)
So, my dear friend,
If you feel you’ve almost reached your rope’s end,
Think of this lesson, then…
Altered Chorus:
You’ll realize you’re torn between two different worlds –
And you’ll know it’s not worth desiring what this earth holds.
You remember the message in God’s Holy Word,
One you’ve often heard,
That if you meet God in His sanctuary, you’ll choose Jesus over silver or gold.
But sometimes in the moment it’s hard to see
That this earth is out to deceive,
And you’ve just got to look to heaven and…believe…
Look to heaven and believe.
