By nature, I'm a fighter. And that's due to how I was raised during my childhood, teenage, and later progressed into my young adult years. I was always trying to prove to people how strong/powerful I was (in every way) and how much I could handle my own without anyone's help. I was very competative and always wanted people to see me and see how much less they were because of how great, I thought, I was.
But you know, God has been dealing with me about pride and strife. I think He pointed that book, "Conflict Free Living: by Joyce Meyer", out to me for a good reason that day when I was in the library. Ever since I've read it (reading it again cuz its just that good), things are changing in me for the better.
So this is what I've learned: when you choose to be a lover, you're choosing life (Galatians 5:22, 26, 6:21, Hebrews 12;14-15, Ephesians 4;29-32 & 5:1-4, Matthew 5:38-44, I Peter 3:8-11).
When you choose to be a fighter, you're choosing death (2 Timothy 3:2-7, Galatians 5:19-21, Proverbs 17:13, 16:25, 17:11, 15:18 and 11:22)
Jesus was a lover and I can see why He tells us to follow Him.
