Can a city of 200k seriously have 479 churches? and that was just on google. i am a tad scared to open the phone book now and look. eeekkkk.
i think tomorrow i will photocopy the yellow pages fo churches, and scratch off the ones i definitely wont try and then start from there.
i guess the best way to go about it, is pick one from each major 'religion' as a prototype and several randoms from the non-denominational etc categories. Seeing as how i probably work half of all sundays, this could take a long time to find the one i like. maybe some have mid-week services too so i can get thru the trials faster.
i am putting on a scientific bent becase it seems so daunting that it is easier to think of it as a scientific process than thinking about how long it could actually take to find a church and know how to weed out the nays.
i'm going to have to research the major denominations to see their beliefs too so i can know if any are a no before i bother going to a service.
i admit, part of me has the thought of why bother? going to church isnt that important. but then i will just walk away again.i need the support of services and fellowship and just being around people who share a desire for god. its easier to walk away when you are all alone in something.
