  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

20s

So its come time to pick up the pen or in this case the phone keyboard to write. Continuing on from my previous entry, i spent a couple of years serving in youth on Fridays and i seen a good many people come to know God in that time.

While volunteering in church was one way God was using me, there were others. It took me awhile to get internet at home as i came from a poorer background and it wasnt a priority for my mum as she was a single mum raising me. My reason for bringing up the internet is , when around the age of 19 we got internet at home, i found God started to do other things through me.

While spending time online , i use to spend alot of time in chatrooms and on instant message things such as MSN messenger. This helped me overcome some of my social awkwardness i have talked about in previous posts. As i spent time online i used to pray for God to use me and there were a few times id sit up late at night and id start imparting wisdom and words i felt God wanted me to share into peoples lives. These words on several occasions were in season and helped bring some of my friends closer to God in there walks.

I encourage you that when God speaks to you and you feel to share a word, do it. You dont know the impact your words may have in someones life.

As i continued to grow in my walk with God and into my 20s, i began to explore other avenues that God could use me, ive always being hungry to serve and do Gods will. One of these avenues I speak of involved getting on online forums such as this.

I have being apart of this forum for around 11/12 years now and have spoken to many many people over the years. I also around the same time as joining this site, joined another forum that was Australian but no longer exists now it was aimed at teens and young adults and would encourage discussion of faith and allowed room for general fun to be had.

While on that other site, i started chatting to a few people and one of them i would become really good friends with and i still talk to them a little to this day. Although there is a long complicated story, i will write about in another entry.

During this time frame which is up to about 2006/7 ish and at the age of 22 my life began to stagnate a little. I still kept serving on sundays but i stopped helping in youth, i was also in and out of jobs. I did however have a lucky break i applied for several jobs around christmas 2005 and the lucky break came in late 2006 when my resume from the previous christmas turned up on someones desk not sure how but God was at work.

This job turned into the job i still have to this day, i encourage you that even if your life seems stagnant keep pushing into what God has for you as you never know what may be around the corner for you next. As we remain faithful he continues to pour into us.
