your church library

Just wondering does your church have a library, if so, what kind of books does it have in it and is it kept up to date?
Are the books donated or bought new, and is there someone in charge of it?
Do you have a system to keep track and approximately how many shelves do you have?

Wow I don't believe it no baptist churches have libraries anymore. Ok...

I think a Church library is a good idea, though I've only seen a couple that actually had one over the years.

There are plenty of "modern" churches that will sell you books from their bookstore, though. ha ha ha...

My former pastor has probably six or seven thousand volumes in his library in his office. It is a large office and his library covers all four walls. He loans his books out to anyone who desires to read one of them but, like me, has lost quite a few because they were never returned. That is the problem with church libraries. Their stock is continually diminished by loss of books never returned.

I met my wife while helping to organize our church library. We bought a lot of new books for it. People also donated some also. At the time, it was a Baptist church we were attending
We had about six long shelves of books. I've seen some church have more than that. We also had some audio books.

Wow you bought new books, I'm hoping I can do that, even though I don't have a lot of money for brand new books.
