Another direct Sri Lankan Sapphire source.
I've made purchases myself from this seller, got to be good friends with him.
Saphire Lankainc
So Yas pops out of his gem cutter's studio one day and immediately send me this video asking me what I think.
Reply back..."You're killin me, Yas. That's definitely gonna be out of my budget!"
Then he sends me his asking price....
It was so good that it was hard to believe and I came VERY close to buying it even though it was too big for the ring that was in the planning stages.
Anybody wanna take a guess at his offer?
($2500)
The stone is 5.45ct, unheated, VVS1, Cornflower Blue Sapphire SPARKLER!
(No lie, the above asking price was legitimate and the stone absolutely guaranteed. This is WHY jewelers make a killing on gems. Retail price for this stone would be no less than $5500 and could reach $10K thru a greedy jeweler.)
Here's another one that I closely considered for awhile.
I'd have bought this one but I was hung up on a feather inclusion that was visible in the table. The price was too good to pass up, but I just couldn't do it.
While most people wouldn't even notice the feather, I can clearly see it....so that one was a no even though the color was outstanding.
This one was 3.40cts, heated, VS/SI, Royal Blue.
And this next one is gorgeous!
It's 10.50cts, Heated, IF-VVS, Royal Blue.
His initial asking price was $55K.....but I was shocked at the final selling price. I watched him dump it for a measly $13,500. It's a clear indication that he probably paid $10K or less for it.
Retail price is the USA would be enormous, anywhere from $60K and up.
