When did the church start keeping Gods commandments?
Forget all 613. Let's talk about 10.
Do you keep the Sabbath? (I'll even give you Sunday )
Do you go out to lunch after church? Do you realize you're causing your brother to sin?
Do you do yardwork on your Sabbath? What about housecleaning?
The church as a whole does NOT keep His commandments.
This is ignorance. If keeping all 613 or even of the jobs of the Mosaic Law was pleading to God, then why did it draw so much condemnation from Jesus in Matthew 23? Why did Paul dispute Judaizers over circumcision?
WHAT WILL IT TAKE to rid God's people of such evil elitism?
The Jews know that there are two aspects of the Law: The jobs and the justices.
The jobs were the minute, nick-picky commands that had absolutely nothing to do with justice. That is why the Pharisees and scribes drew so much condemnation from Jesus.
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others." (Matthew 23:23 ESV)
The justices were never kept. And the justices were one of the main reasons that prophets were sent to the rulers and wealthy. The Jubilee was never kept. Their festivals that were intended to be joyous for the poor and oppressed became another burden to them. And that is the mystery of lawlessness.
It is a mystery because it is concealed and kept secret by strict observance to the jobs of the Law, the far less weightier aspects of the Law.
END THIS ELITISM NOW! For the sake of the least of God's people and for the glory of God's name!
