• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have a friend who's son has been diagnosed with a potential fatal disease. There is treatment for him but he is refusing to go. He is a pastor of a local church and has told her that God will heal him. There is no question that God can heal him. But, one night I prayed to help him and God showed to me that there where Dr's that were to interceed for him. The same night his mom prayed for a sign of help. I saw her the next day and told her what should be done. This just gets more complicated from here. His wife has seperated from him and filed for divorce, he could loose his church because of the divorce, they have a 2 yr old child that she is requesting full custody and no visitation rights for him. I don't understand a person that does God's work is ignoring the signs that he has put right in front of him. ie, this is a rare disease and there is a Dr. who specializes in it just 3 hours from here, he is (was) only in the beginning stages of the disease, not a mile from him there is a Dr. who could treat him through this other specialist, and because of the divorce he would be loosing his health insurance the Specialist has offered to treat him for free. Please tell me if I am making more of this than what's there. To me God has placed his healing right in front of him. It's not our place to test God be he can test us at any time. His health is failing fast. My friend is just watching her son die right before here. He talks to people to support him in not taking the treatment, and the people that bring up the treatment he shuns them away, including his parents. I feel helpless.

Oh wow, that's no fun to go through. I know of two books that you (or somebody involved) NEEDS to read: Bodily Healing and the Atonement by Dr. T. J. McCrossan and Christ the Healer by F. F. Bosworth. That first book I know will change the way you see healings, and the second book my dad read before he prayed for somebody who was full of cancer (the doctor said that he will sew her back up and get ready for a burial; she was too far gone), but after reading that second book my dad prayed, and God healed her!!!!

The key to healing is knowing the truth, and then acting on it. A lot of diseases like cancer are sponsored by evil spirits (a lot of healings Jesus did were actually casting out the evil spirit behind the disease or sickness). I've heard of people praying for months and not getting any results, but when somebody who understands what is going on comes on the scene and rebukes the demon behind the sickness, the people get healed instantly!

From what you're saying, it sounds to be like he could have a struggle with bitterness. Do you think this is true? Because the single #1 reason why people pray and don't get healed, is because they are built up with bitterness and unforgiveness toward other people. What happens when we don't forgive, is we can be turned over to the tormentors (enemy); Matthew 18:23-35 explains this. I know a lot of people have badly failing health because of unforgiveness is built up in their heart. I think many of those people are at ages which they should NOT be having these health problems too!! :(

I know it may be hard to grasp that sickness and diseases are rooted in the spiritual realm. In the OT God allowed sickness and diseases to come upon His people, because of Israel choosing to disobey Him (Deut 28:58-61). Deut 27 and 28 are good chapters that talk about curses and blessings and how they work (Jesus came not to get rid of the law, so this stuff is still important to know in today's world). There are other verses that talk about if Israel turns back to God, He would take sickness from their land (Exodus 23:25, Deut 7:15).

The commandments Jesus gave us were to love one another as thyself, and love the Lord your God (Matthew 22:37-40)! Love is the exact opposite of unforgiveness (bitterness). This explains why Christian people who are bitter often face so many hardships in life; it kills them spiritually and cuts them off from God's forgiveness (Mark 11:26). They disobey God's commandments to love one another and love the Lord. In the OT, disobeying God brought fourth a curse, and it can do the same thing today.

I'm not trying to say it's all his fault, and he is to blame for everything; but if this unforgiveness thing happens to be behind his problem, then I just want to be up front and let you know about it. :)

If you could get a hold of those books I mentioned, they will change the way you see things and give you a much better understanding of how to go about a divine healing.

In Christ,
Bobby

well, we have a lot of that in India Dr or not.
well, we feel that even docotrs are made by God. He helped them know about the different ways to cure. I believe God uses the doctors.
Here's a small story I'd like to share
There was this BIG flood. God's servant was sinking and he prayed ...Lord come and save me.
God said - don't worry I'll be there.
Very soon there was this boat full of people and the boat man said "come on in" but the Gods servant said "NO god is coming to rescue me."
after 5 minute a helicopter hovered above him.. but God's servant said "NO God is coming to rescue me"
very soon the man sank, died and reached up. He asked the Lord "Why didn't u keep ur promise?"
The Lord replied "Who do you think sent the boat and the Helicopter?"
