Former President Donald Trump responded to the torrent of establishment media reporting that he was predicting a “bloodbath” if he was not elected in November by labeling it “fake news.”

At a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, the Republican presidential candidate spoke about the auto industry, saying, “Mexico has taken, over a period of 30 years, 34 percent of the automobile manufacturing business in our country.”

He then pointed out that China is building massive car manufacturing facilities in Mexico.

“They think that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border,” Trump said.

In 2020, the U.S. and Mexico entered into the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which allows qualifying goods to enter the U.S. free of tariffs.

Yeah, the media is falling into the exact same issue they had last time. If they breathlessly report everything that comes out of Trumps mouth without any context in an attempt to sell copy they will once again minimize the times that Trump actually does say stupid and reprehensible things. People keep complaining about the Democrats controlling the media but the real issue is their chasing of the all mighty dollar.

Calling something 'fake news' is what ten year olds say. He said it because that's what he does. There's a reason it's forbidden on this site, you know? He feeds the right wing's more violent members with incendiary imagery.

He feeds the right wing's more violent members with incendiary imagery. It's the a very shining example of stochastic terrorism. It's like catnip to his more violent followers.

stochastic terrorism
For we who are less informed:
Stochastic terrorism refers to political or media figures publicly demonizing a person or group in such a way that it inspires supporters of the figures to commit a violent act against the target of the speech.

BTW

Stochastic
  1. randomly determined; having a random probability distribution or pattern that may be analyzed statistically but may not be predicted precisely.

It's quite funny how leftists are all literal where it comes to whatever Trump says, but when it comes to anything they say they have no literalness involved.

When Trump talked about fighting he meant actual physical violence. When they talk about fighting it's not literal at all. When Trump talks about bloodbath he means physical violence, but when they do it's not.

I mean they don't assign literalness to anything anymore except where it comes to Trump's speech.

Well, to be fair...the last time Trump said it "will be wild"...

It was.

Imagine how many more immigrants would be coming to "invade" us if those auto plants closed.
Trump would be virtually putting up a sign, "Welcome, Invaders."

You do realize that in much of manufacturing humans are being replaced by robots.

The prediction is 80% of human labor will be replaced by machines by 2040 or so, if the science and technology magazines are accurate in their predictions.

It's a curious thing then, why we are inviting low skilled labor into this country at all (instead of closing the border) when Americans don't have enough jobs as it is ... Especially when within a decade lower skilled jobs will be few and far between.

Would it replace the one Joe Biden put up in Jan of 2021?

Or do you believe the 10 million illegal across the border in the last three years are coming for good paying auto jobs?

Especially the vast majority that are not from Mexico.

Boy, you know the left has really gone off the rails when even FactCheck.org feels it necessary to correct them.

“If you actually watch and listen to the section, he was talking about the auto industry and tariffs,” Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Trump’s campaign, told the Washington Post, adding that “Biden’s policies will create an economic bloodbath for the auto industry and autoworkers.”
That explanation seems the most plausible, given the context of Trump’s comments.

Maybe because when Trump said “fight like hell” many of his supporters went and literally did exactly that.

So did many big the rioters on 2020 when Democrats were involved. But if course that wasn't literal either according to the left.

Trump is the only one that is taken literally by you guys. It's quite obvious. We all see it.

No, no, we’re not supposed to look at that in context. The ninety (some) minute President Trump speech to rile folks up was totally mitigated when he said to “peacefully and patriotically“ March to the Capitol, for some raisin.

“Petition the Government for the redress of grievances” doesn’t usually include the petitioners just showing up and demanding that one branch of our federal government cease doing its Constitutionally mandated work to hear these grievances, though.
