Three White Men Shoot Five BLM Protesters

Five people were shot late Monday night near the Minneapolis Police Department’s 4th Precinct in the city’s north side, according to Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder.

The incident occurred at 10:40 p.m. in the area of 14th Avenue North and Morgan Avenue North. This is one block north of the 4th Precinct station at 1925 Plymouth Ave., where protesters have been stationed since Nov. 15.

Two people were taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center. Three others were driven by private vehicle to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. All victims have injuries that are not life threatening, police said.
The victims are all protesters, a source tells KSTP.

Police said they are looking for three white men. A source tells KSTP they were wearing bulletproof vests.

It's good that all victims are alive and none have life-threatening injuries. I expect to see the perpetrators quickly brought to justice.

If it were breaking them up by racial demographics, it would say so... or at least separate the two sets of numbers.

No, I think the more likely scenario is that we're just having a really bad crime wave.

Of the blacks killed, 2% were killed by whites, 1% were killed by police, 97% were killed by other blacks == 100% of blacks killed.

Actually, the chart is wrong, since I don't believe that police shootings factor into murder stats and it WAY undercounts the number of police shootings. I don't have time to dig up all the numbers right now, but in 2011, 6329 blacks were murdered in the US, while in each of the last two years, police have killed more than 1000 people. One percent of 6329 would be 63, so there's no way that police only account for 1% of the blacks killed each year. It's closer to 10%.

The only real rebuttal I've seen to the chart shows that it's inaccuracies aren't very great. Perhaps the differences are regional. Apparently, FBI data at the national level shows that 90% of black homicides are committed by blacks. The corresponding data for white homicides is 84%.

Perhaps the difference are because of suicide data or some such. At any rate, the chart numbers are not wildly inaccurate.

Even if it weren't fake, these numbers in isolation are meaningless. You need to weight the numbers based on the relative frequencies of the groups within society. Even if they still come out unbalanced, you need to do Bayesian analysis to decide whether race is actually a good predictor. No, this graphic was not made by a statistician. It was made by a partisan.
