Psalm 94
How many times did it seem that the wicked were triumphing, and they continued on, prospering, and literally celebrating their triumph, growing up like grass, as maybe you yourself was at a loss because as it says in verses 20-21, they even write laws and put them into place to shed innocent blood:
20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
As it says in verse 16, who will stand against the wicked and their laws when they shed innocent blood?:
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
What comes to mind for me regarding the shedding of innocent blood is the deliberate and targeted killing of babies, not yet finished their journey in coming outside the womb. God knit each one of us together, that's you and me and each one of the babies in wombs. The wickedness doesn't stop there. Baby body parts are sold for profit, by those who shed these babies innocent blood.
It's almost as if the babies, if they had audible voices, would be asking verse 16.
It is written in Genesis that Abel's blood cried out to God from the ground after Cain killed him. It surely means that these millions of babies blood cries out to God in a tsunami of cries as the holocaust of killing continues.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Who will rise up and speak out for those who cannot speak out for or defend themselves?
Reminds me of some verses in Isaiah, and a verse in Psalms:
Isaiah 58:
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
Psalm 82:
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
It's almost as if the wicked are saying that God neither sees nor hears their abominations and plans to shed innocent blood, yet God has an answer right here:
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Of
COURSE He sees. There will be a time when the wicked WILL come face to face with this God they have brushed aside and ridiculed while shedding innocent blood and getting rich from it, and framing laws to do this (calling evil good, and good evil):
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" ~Isaiah 5:20
Eventually, we ALL will see the living God, face to face (woe to those who are not covered by Jesus Christ:
"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." ~Hebrews 10:31
I'm thankful that God has a heart for the most defenseless of us, and for us, and that He is our Defender and Protector and that none of our cries go un-noticed or un-heard by Him, even if they don't make an audible sound, like the smallest and most defenseless among us silent cries.
