Ok, so first of all, someone had mentioned that they would like to know how my job search was going in a recent thread of mine. As we all know it can be incredibly hard to work and get jobs with OCD. OCD is a full time job in and of itself.
I am happy to tell you that I have indeed found a new job. My previous job was in EMC testing. To make a long story short, we - quite literally - microwave critical components that are going to me on the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner so when the airplane is exposed to things like cell phones, radar, etc. it won't fall from the sky. I really enjoyed this job but it was an hourly job, and sometimes we would go for months with no hours, so I wasn't bringing home anywhere near the money I need to live by myself.
My new job is completely different. I'm in IT by trade and am now an IT Support Specialist at a medical center in town. I'm really excited! I'm not going to be making tons and tons of cash or anything but I will be able to support myself and that is a huge step. More importantly though, the job itself is awesome. I did a job shadow and it's just what I was hoping to get.
Also, I've made a million posts here asking for help with my condition. I will probably be making more soon (lol) but realized I have never gotten on here and expressed how happy I am to be able to post here. So:
THANK YOU.
Not only is this a great community, but there are even people on here who have - for the most part - conquered their OCD yet still come on here to help those of us struggling. I can not thank all of you on here enough. This forum has been my first line of defense against OCD and the only place I know of where Christians can get together and discuss both faith-related and non-faith-related OCD problems. I appreciate it. Seriously.
