I have stated this before, but will give it another go.
IMO, this thread would be more useful in making a point, if it only mentioned police shootings (killings), where there is evidence, the police acted improperly. Clearly, there are cases when the police acted improperly and there are likely many cases in which the police acted properly, in shooting and killing someone.
That is, unless it is someone's actual view point, that police should never use deadly force in the midst of doing their job and protecting themselves and the public.
Now, I could start a thread and count all of the people who died on the operating table while getting surgery and say; surgeons killed this many people. Since, a lot of people die on the operating table, this raw number may seem impressive and or may lead some to believe surgeons are to blame for this number. But, the raw number, does not take into account the specific situation and determine how sick these people were and whether there was any medical negligence involved in the death.
Details folks, details.
Hey, I absolutely would be interested in a thread like you describe. It's not how I picture this one but if you'd like to start one I'd gladly be a part of it.
tulc(US police have killed 83 more people this year then last)
