I don't recall that it was answered except to say that perhaps yes, perhaps no?

It is not off-topic, as being at war has a direct bearing as to Israel attempting to protect itself and prevent any attacks of a catastrophic nature against itself and taking proactive measures to do so.

I had an interesting thought. Obama has our border patrol trying to control those borders by using non-lethal bullets, bean bag bullets if I recall. Would he protect Israel's border, air space, by sending up F-15's armed with bean bag bullets? Just to be consistent of course.
