What you need to ask yourself is if you believe that life begins at conception, the moment the sperm joins with the egg and it begins to multiply and grow and will eventually (without intervention) become a human being. If you believe that a fertilized egg is the beginning of life, then YES, the pill can be used like an abortion, if it destroys the fertilized egg (aka a new life).
