Sacred? The prince of the power of the air is a mighty foe. What great sadness surrounds every aspect of our continuing murder of the innocents :(

A VOICE WAS HEARD IN RAMAH,
WEEPING AND GREAT MOURNING,
RACHEL WEEPING FOR HER CHILDREN;
AND SHE REFUSED TO BE COMFORTED,
BECAUSE THEY WERE NO MORE.” ~Matt 2:18

How is choosing to support the Nation of Israel a bad thing to begin with, and how can doing such a thing be seen as something that is on par with the murder of hundreds of millions of unborn children

I am confused

Israel has FREE, State funded Abortion for any female age 15 years and up, at any time, for any reason.

But Maybe that's ok with you.

This thread seems to be about a clinic in DC, yes?

There is a Christian progressive organization, Sojourners, headed by Rev. Jim Wallis.

Sojourners

Yes, they're the ones taking care of the 95% of the seamless garment that some, often many, Christians step on.

Instead of heaping universal criticism on them, we should rejoice that they dedicate their lives to important priorities that many Christians ignore.

That's not "ok" with me, anymore than such a thing is "ok" with me here is America. That said, the support of the ongoing sovereignty of Israel as a nation needs to be done in spite of the poor choices its politicians make, just like we support the sovereignty of America which is sadly a pro-abortion nation at this point in time.

How is speaking out against Abortion here or In Israel tantamount to opposing either nations' sovereignty?

Now I'm confused.

Because when one speaks of supporting the embattled nation of Israel, we speak of supporting both its sovereignty and it's very existence as a nation, not the support of its individual policies (which in the case of abortion can and will hopefully be changed).

But your talking about a government. The story is about supposed faith leaders. If we are going to judge governments for their secular sins then the US surely would vye for top of the list.

Christians support the Jewish people.

Just as a majority of Americans refused to support the bombastic bully a small minority of Americans elected, many Israeli citizens strongly oppose the human rights violations that Netanyahu practices against the Palestinians.

Supporting Israel should mean helping them find a meaningful pathway to living in peace with their neighbors.

and I responded by linking a story about supposed faith leaders supporting Pro Abortion Israel and asked what the difference was....

If we are going to judge governments for their secular sins then the US surely would vye for top of the list.

Yep. Absolutely.
And from my experience reading your posts, you are no stranger to Judging the US Government for its secular sins. What keeps you from extending that Righteous Judgement to Israel? Christ and His apostles certainly showed no restraint in extending that righteous Judgement to the Israel of their Day, and that Israel was an actual, theocratic nation, in a covenant relationship with the Living God... Today's Israel is not.

Christians support the Jewish people.

This comment probably deserves it's own thread.
But I am curious Why you believe Christians should Support any one group of Christ Rejectors above another?

And also, as a reminder, the Modern nation of Israel is a Multi-Ethnic, Secular, Democratic Nation-State.
It has ZERO relationship to the Pre-Desolation Hebrew Theocracy it took it's name from.

Because when one speaks of supporting the embattled nation of Israel, we speak of supporting both its sovereignty and it's very existence as a nation, not the support of its individual policies (which in the case of abortion can and will hopefully be changed).

And If it's individual policies are antithetical to one's moral beliefs, what drives one to support it?

And again I'll ask, how is speaking out against those individual policies tantamount to NOT supporting it's existence?

That's where I'm confused... Modern, secular, democratic Israel seems to possess some sort of almost "voo-doo-taboo" protection around it that people are genuinely frightened to speak critically about ANY of its policies, not matter how horriffic and barbaric.

And couldn't we apply your reasoning to Planed Parenthood?
When one speaks of supporting the embattled clinics of Planned Parenthood, we speak of supporting it's very existence as a Health Clinic, not the support of its individual policies or procedures.
