Yeah well, that counters false narrative of denying the true rape culture of the Middle East. SJWs and modern day feminists want to dismiss that out of hand, and instead focus more on a culture which is morally light years ahead with regards to women's rights, equality and status, and concern themselves with things so trivial by comparison, things like government paying for birth control pills, accepting fat women as healthy and attractive, the blatant lie of pay inequality, and other nonsense, compared to cultures who criminalize rape victims, where a woman's testimony is worth 1/2 of a man's, where 'honor killings' occur on a regular basis, where women who don't dress a certain way deserve to be raped, where women cannot be in public unless escorted by a male relative, where women are viewed and treated as second class citizens.

No. Don't mention the reality of things in those cultures. Don't mention your 1st hand experience. It's anti PC and contradicts the false narrative being pushed.

Lol! I see the irony.

Israeli airport security is top notch and "sadly", they don't entirely respect PC....

Apparently, they would choose to drop PC in favor of passenger safety....

Do you have to personally know a politician in order to form an opinion about their policy proposals?

the true coward focuses on the problems of others instead of trying to fix their own.

Besides, I'm pretty sure more than a few right wingers on here don't think rape culture even exists here

Sex assaults at a music festival is about as far away from news as I could imagine.

But if it's a bunch of white frat boys allegedly assaulting someone people are all over that.

Politicians ae a bit diferent as they introduce laws that have an effect on everyone. Feminists are just women[usually] who believe in equal rights. Some are more extreme thsn other.s I don't view feminists as a political entity and I suppose you do? maybe that is how we differ.

Yeah. I would agree that most people, not just "right wingers", don't think rape culture exists in the US or Canada. Only the nut jobs like the feminists, and politicians pandering in order to garner votes, push that ideology. But, hey. Even though most people in Western society abhor the idea of rape, and even though rape against the law, maybe we live in a rape culture after all, and don't even know it. Show me the stats. Show me the evidence that we live in a rape culture.

Yeah when I think asylum seeker from a muslim majority country, I tend to not think that they might be muslims, because its pretty awesome to be a muslim in a muslim country...not so much if you aren't muslim.

The only Muslims I can imagine seeking asylum from Pakistan would be Ahmadi Muslims.

Some Shia communities are being regularly targeted in Pakistan. Then you could have gay people etc. Also, some of the gang related issues in Karachi and elsewhere would justify an asylum claim.

I've lived and worked in 5 countries. The country where I've been sexually harassed most and by far is a Muslim country in the Middle East. Most of the perpetrators were Muslims from South Asia (Pakistan, India) and black Arabs.

Let me get this straight. You experienced more sexual harassment in the Middle East, but the perpetrators were not actually from the Middle East but rather from South Asia or Africa?

I've spent time in Latin America, in the Middle East and lived for awhile in India. I had more problems in Mexico than anywhere else. The South Asian Muslims I knew all acted like gentlemen.

Shi'ites aren't harassed by the government which is the usual criteria for getting asylum. As for homosexual behavior, the penalties for this go back to the British Raj and haven't changed much. Also, keep in mind that in South Asia it is the social norm to publicly walk holding hands and kissing members of the same gender, so it is only intercourse which is prohibited. So as long as gays are discreet they are generally in no danger. No gay pride parades, however.

I've never heard of the requirement that the persecution must come from government to qualify. Surely it's just a real threat of persecution if you were to return?

No gay rights campaigning, or otherwise identifying your sexuality. If you do get outed, you're in great danger in Pakistan. A simple decision for any asylum court

Not exactly from Africa, but "colored" Arabs - Arabs that are not white. Not excusing white Arabs either. I had a few white Arab co-workers asked me to have sex with them in the bathroom. I know they are just joking around but why me of all people?

It certainly has something to do with my relatively fair skin color (compared to theirs at least), my quite youthful, child-like looks, and skinny built that many people I knew in person finds quite attractive. Not bragging or anything just establishing a few facts why I tend to attract quite a lot of unwanted attention. And those demographics I mentioned tend to be biggest source of the problem.
