Mass sexual assault reported at Germany music festival

Eighteen women have said they were sexual assaulted at a music festival in Germany.

Three men from Pakistan aged between 28 and 31 have been arrested and police are still searching for three men who may also have been involved.

The attacks are similar to those reported in Cologne and other cities on New Year's Eve, when as many as 1,000 women were groped and robbed.

Police said three women reported being groped at the Schlossgrabenfest music festival in Darmstadt on Saturdaym saying they had been encircled then sexually harassed by a group of men.

By Tuesday, 15 more women had made complaints of being sexually assaulted in a similar manner at the festival.

I'm pleased to see we've evolved past blaming women for their assaults. In the past there might have been some victim blaming going around because of perceived immodesty and such. That suddenly stopped once groups of immigrants started assaulting women. Hooray for progress.

One day we'll read that German women killed those who tried to rape them in public. The attempted rape perpetrators having been from Pakistan, or Syria, or wherever.

News reports like this should forewarn all women in Germany to be prepared to fend off violent men like this. Use as much force as necessary to the fullest to defend one's body from rapists. And save other women in Germany from cur that think they're easy targets and deserved of this assault because they're infidel women.

Exactly, it's pre-refugee/migrants meaning it's been going on. It doesn't excuse the attacks, but the paranoia and hatred against foreign/Muslim men isn't justified when the same paranoia and hatred is not present against native/indigenous/ethnically German men even though they were part of the mass sexual assault problem.

10,000+ refugee children are missing in Europe, many presumably missing because of indigenous sex traffickers in Europe. Where is the hysteria regarding them (both the children and the traffickers)? Where is the indictment on European culture?

1.) What does the date have anything to do with it? 2011 is still pretty current. These festivals still happen. Sexual assault is an issue. Maybe widespread coordinated attacks are rare, but does it matter if they're coordinated or not?

That's exactly the one I was going to bring up. Pre-9/11, middle class white kids I the US and even then when I was ten, I remember hearing about sexual assaults that happened there.

Sexual assaults at festivals cross race, nationality, and religion. That it happens often does not excuse any instances, but more examples help us determine what details are more important and why they are important in understanding why this happens. Making correlation equals cause errors doesn't help. Discovering an important detail but misunderstanding how it plays a role doesn't help. We have to sweep our prejudices away to effectively address the problem.
