What does "Trump got what he wanted" even mean? He wanted lawfare? He wanted multiple indictments for everything under the sun, things others have indeed done, but now HE did it. The nation is taking a hit all right, from the multiple millions pouring in unvetted over the border. DId you happen to see the violence at the Texas border last night, when the migrants overran the guards? CNN almost never gets it right, so I'm happy to see they at least put an edited version on the website -even if CNN cannot figure out why this happened. As stated, attendance at a retreat is not that important. This is an election year and many are campaigning. The important thing is that they get it together and fix this disaster on multiple fronts - border, economy, massive inflation, wars in multiple places, deaths from migrants now too, etc.

The general pattern of Trump's presidency, and after, are that he is
saying more and more strident and outrageous things. And, he is insulting
and threatening more and more people.

Moderate Republicans, are starting to distance themselves from Trump,
as competent advisors did to him, when he was president.

Trump is losing more and more moderate Republicans, while attracting more
and more radical and violent citizens, who feel wronged.

The strangeness of Trump's weekly announcements, I think are unsettling
American citizens who want stability and a careful thinker, as president.
