Apparently, FOX "news" has been airing out this notion. Is there anything to it? As much as I recoil from young men bashing their brains out for our entertainment, I still kind of want my Niners to win, so really I hope not.
Did Fox News present any supporting evidence, or are they "just asking questions"?

NFL teams are of course famous for being owned by socialist subversives.
They are owned by elites (Green Bay notwithstanding). And the elite WEF Soros Moloch nexus supports Biden against the people's champion (and God's obvious preference) Trump.

I liked watching the Raiders play for years. Especially with Stabler, Casper and Madden back in the day. It was always a good game with my Steelers. Where's Jim Plunkett when you need him? Haha. Or Ray Guy for that matter. What a leg!
I never liked Al Davis, nor the legacy he seemed to leave with the organization. Only Raider I ever liked a bit was Cliff Branch.

I have a friend who briefly played with Stabler when he went to the Houston Oilers. Says he was a real party animal.

Funny thing - for some reason my nephew was at a convention where old players were signing autographs. He knew that as a youngster I loved Fran Tarkenton, so he got in a line to get Fran's autograph for me. (Sweet kid, my nephew.) But before he reached the table Fran had left and Howie Long had taken his place. So he got me an autographed football from my least favorite team. :| So I thought I'd use this post to offer it to the highest bidder in this thread. It's a high quality Wilson "official" ball, suitable for ages 14 and up, although with a little practice I think a 13 y.o. could throw it.

Did they provide supporting evidence for something they never said? My goodness, how hard is reading, people? Don't we learn that in elementary school?

Plus yeah this thing about caring what celebrities think is just bizarre. Can you imagine in the old days caring about Bing Crosby's opinion about abortion? Or caring about Bud Abbot and Lou Costello's thoughts on theism versus atheism? Or how about asking Elvis Presley "where do you stand on deficit spending?" It just shows how much stupider we've gotten.

Is it so new? Lindbergh was hugely influential politically just because he was famous.

Maybe not Bing Crosby, but Bob Hope got an ear. John Wayne was looked up to. At least Audie Murphy was a genuine hero.

Heck Ronald Reagan got to be president. Clint Eastwood was a mayor somewhere? Herschel Walker almost got elected senator, despite being admittedly mentally ill (DID).

Or try to imagine anyone caring what Ronald Reagan thought about any political issue.

I'm sorry, I mistook you for the Raider fan who posted before you. I take it all back now lol. I remember Fran Tarkenton becoming a TV personality on That's Incredible or something like that. He was a character on and off the field. I liked him too.

I am an old Hollywood expert and let me tell you, if you think celebrities are too opinionated now, you’d spontaneously combust if you knew how politically opinionated old Hollywood was.

Like, for real, go read up on the Hollywood Blacklist, or Barbara Stanwyck’s political advocacy for the LGBTQA+ people, or Bette Davis and her pro-feminist ideologies, or Joan Crawford’s radical stance on… Well… Literally everything. Or Clark Gable’s stance on America not joining WWII. Or Joan Fontaine’s views on birth control. Or Claudette Colbert’s stance on equal pay. Or Spencer Tracy’s view on health care. Or Katherine Hepburn’s view on… Again… Literally anything.

The question I do have though, is how influential were they? That's more the issue imo, not that famous people are involved in politics, but how much people listen to them.

Saying Hollywood used to not be involved in politics is like saying sports and politics used to be separate. Sports and politics have been intertwined since at least as far back as when Queen Victoria was told, “Ah, your Majesty, there is no second.”
