This woman potentially (I'm not a doctor) suffers from a mental illness. It is of course very important that the mentally ill are cared for, but that shouldn't destroy freedom of access to information for everyone.

I laughed a bit when I watched that video. Poor woman suffering so much.
I burned some bibles myself. Really, it's not as easy as people would think. THere'd kindling issues... (bible pages make good kindling, btw) Correct amount of air flow to the flames. The covers themselve don't burn well, so they have to be taken off and buried some place. (They are, however, extremely biodegradable.)
Reasons? 'Cause I could. Perhaps it sheds some light on the issue for y'all.

That's from one of those "wife-swap" shows, right? I don't usually like watching those shows, but I might make an exception in this case, just to see what on Earth could have made her flip out so bad. I actually feel sorry for that woman, to be so fearful of non-Christians. I'm just glad that she's not representative of Christianity as a whole, as that would really make me scared (I have found a lot of fundie websites out there that remind me of this lady though).As far as Ian McKellen's ripping out pages of Bibles, I think it's a bit silly and morally suspect, but on the whole seems rather harmless. I think he should stop doing it, but I think that very few people are ever even going to notice a few missing pages of Leviticus in their hotel Bibles.
As for the speculation earlier in the thread that he was just trying to lash out against something he knew in his heart was true, I think that that's a load of rubbish. It is very easy to play armchair psychologist, but I think any time you assume that someone who believes differently from you *really* believes what you do, you're probably wrong. In any event, there's plenty more likely reasons for his behaviour. Is hatred of something that has been used as an excuse for exreme violence against people with same-sex attraction, not a very plausible reason for such a silly and emotional outburst? It seems more likely anyway.
