Culinary Arts. Go for it. You'll make a lot of friends. But in all seriousness, I have a friend that had a problem with his recruiter, trying to ship him out early, and not guaranteeing him his job. His recruiter was a jerk and would not budge, so he called the recruiter's commanding officer, and said he was having second thoughts about joining if he couldn't get certain things taken care of. Well, he somehow ended up pushing his ship date back, getting a bonus, and not to mention he learned how to properly use request mast.

Do this only if your recruiter is being unreasonable though, and make sure you know what you want. If you really want to be a sailor but certain things need to be taken care of, take care of it. If not, then you have to make the decision to get out or otherwise. Just don't do anything you're going to regret.

My recruiter is one of my good friends though, and he worked with me. In my opinion recruiters are good guys overall, but they need to get certain things done. If you get in the military, you would probably understand it better.

Thank you for saying that. I have been told I will get my change from Store keep to Culinary Specialist. But they haven't said when I will get the change. I'm still waiting but hearing that they ended not giving him the job he wanted to change to makes me wonder.
