I am a volunteer with the local ambulance service and assist the local fire department in wildland firefighting.

We just have a volunteer service around here. I don't respond to the structure fires as I have had no training in that area. I've been running on amulance calls for a little over two years and have really started responding to the wildland fires this past year. We get far more calls for wildland type fires than we ever get for town or structure fires.

I started my career volunteering for the local fire department... Decided to become a paramedic and really fell in love with medicine, so I hung up the bunker coat and steped onto the ambulance. Been doing it ever since.

God bless you for the work that you do in the community... Stop by the "Emergency Services" forum from time to time. It's a fairly new subforum that is specifically for EMS, Fire, Police, 911, etc to communicate.
