Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 6:

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11a And such were some of you.
They needed to repent. Paul wrote to them again in another letter, New American Standard Bible, 2 Corinthians 12:

21 I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and indecent behavior which they have practiced.
English Standard Version:

I fear that when I come again my God may humble me before you.
Paul feared they had not repented of their sins when he visited them, and he would have to mourn over them in person. That would have been a humiliating/humbling experience for Paul. Once more, Paul urged them to repent so as to avoid that possible scenario.
