I read that Father Berregan passed away today. Here's a nice piece on his life. He is an inspiration to me

I knew of him, but not a lot about him. So the story was helpful in telling me more about his life. It is interesting that after he and his brother formed a peace group, his superiors sent him away, but to Latin America! That was like sending him to a graduate course in poverty and oppression. Or like trying to put out a fire by pouring a little gasoline on it. I also did not know about his friendship with Thomas Merton. Merton wasn't an activist as Berrigan was, but it sounds like they thought alike about issues of peace and war. Thanks for posting the article.
