I think the atmosphere in most places would be weird for a first date if it were V-day. It seems like a recipe for a bad experience at over crowded restaurants serving marginal food because the kitchen is over tasked. Not to mention service staff that is stressed out from being over worked, and possibly resentful that they have to work that night. Come to think of it even if you were in a relationship I think I'd avoid going out on V-day.
Now if you were doing something like coffee I don't see the big deal.

I wouldn't want to go to a restaurant or the cinema or something that everyone else is doing. Something casual would be ok though.

I would never. I don't like going out on Valentine's Day period. It's always seemed like a forced day for romance and the fly-by-the-seat-of-my-balloon-pants self just does not enjoy such forcefulness. So yeah anyway... I don't go out on Valentine's Day when I'm dating someone anyway, so it's kinda... ech. No.

I wouldn't mind it at all. Truth be told, I think it would be far more stressful for the guy than for me.

I would go, though I'd prefer it was something casual verses dinner or a movie just because those places are to insanely crowded.
