And this lowering of cost and logistics increases the probability of this option being used moreso than other options.

I can understand the logistical cost being a driving factor in increased usage. But that's not the impression I get from the people that complain about the usage of drones, ime, the moral outrage comes from the fact that drones are used.

Have you. I said I would not shoot it down with a shotgun I would just shoot it with a paintball gun and make a mess if I did not want them to fly that thing over my yard taking photos with it.
I think shooting a drone with a paintball gun is an appropriate response. Damage is minimal while at the same time the drone holder experiences a similar level of annoyance that the homeowner experiences.

Truth be told, people who like to shoot drones are probably the types that have a gun and are just itching for an excuse to use it.

I 100% agree with you, the oral outrage is illogical

Edit. The moral outrage is also illogical :) (stupid spell check)

I went browsing as a guest in the local Sam's Club just the other day here. They have for sale a camera drone in their electronics section.
How to make friends and then spy on them.
Buy this if you want to assist neighbors with their target practice.

^_^ Someone had put a handmade sharpie printed sign on top of the cube display of them.
I wonder how long it stayed there before management or security took it away.

Considering they have cameras and can take and upload pictures from various angle & heights so do I.....though you might run into so issues if you did so in an incorporated area. From the sounds of the OP article the woman lived in the country or somewhere that discharging her shotgun was not an issue.

I wonder though if we should not give them some degree of artistic licence.
If you look at the photos they are getting those drone cameras are nothing short of amazing.

Very cool! Thanks

I got a small Radio Shack "drone" for a gift. I don't think I will be spying on the neighbors anytime soon. So far I can do two moves: Have it roll rapidly on the ground until is crashes into me or have it fly rapidly away from me until it crashes into something else. The common theme is "crashes", fortunately it came with spare propellers. :)

My stomach already hurts from working out....don't make me laugh anymore.....but I believe we are all waiting with bated breath hoping to see some of these crashes:eek:.

Personal drones have uses. People can get some pretty great video doing tricks and stuff with the "follow me" mode, but, like with anything useful, people just have to be jerks about them and use them to annoy other people. I don't blame people who shoot them down if they are being used to violate people's privacy on their own property.

A friend has a son and daughter in law who are a team on a top end drone @$100,000 ---they contract out to movie and TV productions and sometimes nature shows like National Geographic. They have been all over the world.

I like the "shoot it down" thing.
Yes I would shoot it down.
Wonder if those spied upon by a drone could file trespassing
charges?
:scratch::scratch:
People need realize that camera equipped drones have been around
quite a while & used for surveying and inspecting power and pipe
lines.
I doubt those drones circle around houses and back yards though.

"types that have a guns and itching for an excuse to use it"?
That was a back handed insult to gun owners.
I have guns and am not "itching" to use one.
Lots of members here have guns and are not "itching" to
use one.

Note that radio control model aircraft buffs have been playing
with very expensive "toys" for many decades.
Many of those toys are camera equipped.
There are restrictions on the use and operation of those
"drones".

No, read my post. My post does not say all gun owners. I own guns and I used to teach gun safety.

I was very clear, the people I was talking about are the people that shoot at drones.

If you are a part of gun culture then you know there is a huge element that secretly can't wait for the day they get to use their gun.

In any event no where in my post did I say all gun owners
