All the other modern horror writers seemed to have been given threads, so I thought I'd start one about the man himself. Personally Clive Barker is my favorite horror writer that's still, you know, writing. Only real complaint is that sometimes (okay, in pretty much every story he's ever wrote) there's a sexual situation that's completely unnecessary and/or out of place, but hey, that's just his way of telling stories I guess.

Personally, I think my favorite story of his is "Cabal", though I also enjoyed "The Life of Death" and "The Last Illusion" quite a bit.

Candyman. Is this even a book? Or was it just a script he wrote for a movie?
I believe it was just a movie unless it's based off a story buried in one of his (six) books of short stories. But I'm guessing that it isn't since Barker has written plays and movies from scratch, and has even said in interviews that he prefers this to writing novels.

Abarat is one cool book. The paintings really make it come alive.
I haven't read that one, but from what I found looking around it sounds like the art series, which is something I quite enjoyed, so I should take a look into that.
