Good point. We forgot that the Obama Democrats don't see success as a good thing

So now supporting free speech = bigotry. I guess that's why we have a thread about How Things Have Changed" Success, BAD. Free Speech, BAD
Despite what the bigots would like to claim, this whole "Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day" thing never had anything to do with free speech. That talking point has gotten old, so drop it.

A bunch of Americans (mostly an older, whiter, fatter crowd) proudly flocked to a greasy corporate fast food chain to send a message to gays of all ages in America that there are still people who hate them. All in the name of Jesus.

Your dismissal of the reality has no bearing on said reality

I don't suppose you mean dirty as in the condition of all men prior to them being redeemed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. But unfortunately, all mankind is fallen and needs to be saved by Jesus Christ. Gay, straight, confused it doesn['t matter. All men prior to coming to Christ are dirty and sinful and deserving of death. But God sent His only begotten son to earth so that those who believe in Him will reborn, forgiven, and enjoy eternal life with Him. This offer was not just for white straight people, it was for all people regardless of sexual preference, color of skin, country of birth, or political party. There's no black sinner, white sinner, gay sinner of straight sinner. There are just sinners. All of us. As Pastor Sy Rogers puts it, "In God's big ocean, some fish are green, some are grey, and some are tropical." Sy Rogers Communications - International Communicator and Minister

What is opposed is the furthering of any lifestyle that is inherantly sinful, whether that lifestyle is drugs, inappropriate content addiction, fornication, adultery, or homosexuality. The acceptance of sin is what is fought against, not the sinner.

If it is the sinner that you see targeted then what you are witnessing is not Christianity but a bastardization of it.

I like how you completely ignored the rest of his post about the various different kinds of marriage god allowed in the bible.

Also how you shifted the goal posts from biblical marriage to biblical marriage that god blesses.

Seriously, it was quality.

It seems from the images I've seen, that the hate was solely on your side.

So the guy wearing the shirt "Jesus is a ****" was only hating haters? How progressive.
It's kind of like being intolerant of intolerance. If you're a tolerant person, then those who hold different views are obviously intolerant haters and thus don't deserve tolerance, but do deserve to be hated. Frankly, I get a migraine trying to explain such twisted logic

For the record, it appears that the Ugandan bill affords the death penalty to those who commit heinous acts with under-age individuals and to HIV-positive individuals under some circumstances.
It also criminalizes any homosexual act with at least life in prison, and do you really approve of a law that starts killing HIV positive people.

The bill doesn't purport to be Christian

84 percent of Uganda is Christian, Hawk. They didn't get their anti-gay sentiment from The God Delusion.

I'll agree with the fact that it isn't only Ugandan Christians. Ugandan has an Inter-religious Council, the members of which want Uganda to cut all times with all countries that didn't support that insanity.

BBC News - Uganda fear over gay death-penalty plans

and major Christian organizations oppose it.

Not the ones in Uganda.

Serial offenders...wonder how many instances that is...3...5....hmmm....
Also, i wonder if people who are caught may say they were raped to avoid also risking the death penalty?
Either way, the reason the bill is being considered is because it kills gays. Ergo the name.
And it's supported by some lovely Christians.

This is what happens when morons preach about gays destroying families and the world in general.

Considering that Christian organizations are opposed to it, your point seems rather weak.

Nope, this never had anything to do with free speech. Not one person called for Dan Cathy to be arrested for his hate speech.

Hate speech? God doesn't warn us about sin because He hates us but because He loves us and wants us to avoid those things that harm us. God didn't create marriage as the union of a man and a woman to deprive any man or woman of any good thing. And considering the number of politicians who have said they would oppose Chic-Fil-A from operating in their areas BECAUSE he exercised his right of free speech just shows how far we've drifted from the moral intent of government which is to secure the blessings of liberty, not destroy them.

What is hateful is encouraging people to engage in behavior that will harm them in this life and deprive them of life beyond this one.

No one has a problem with God directly telling someone to change their behavior it's only when other people pretend to speak on his behalf that folks get upset.
