Just a heads-up folks - this is a non-debate forum.
From the Statement of Purpose for Christian Advice ...
We would ask that members direct their responses to the member who started the thread and refrain from debating one another's theological beliefs and viewpoints. Do not use this forum to debate with other Christians as that is not the purpose of the Christian Advice forum. If members would like to discuss/debate specific Christian theological doctrines, they should do so in one of the Theology forums.
Oooooooooopppppps!!!!!
The true saving baptism is the baptism into Christ by the Spirit. Paul wrote that by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body 1 Cor 12:13 and we also read as many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ in Galatians 3I was baptized the catholic way, but I was told it is no good. It has got to be done the right way, a full immersion.
I wan't to recieve the spirit of the Lord but I don't know anyone who can baptize me that way. Should I do the catholic sacrament of confirmation (I think), I have the 1st communion.
What should I do. I feel I in stuck in a rut.
Thanks.

I disagree, for the New Testament contains no explicit instructions on how physically to administer the water of baptism. Also, what of those that live in areas where water is scarce, such as the desert or in sub-zero temperatures where a full immersion baptisim would be impossible? It has got to be done the right way, a full immersion.
Reverend Wurmbrand was a Jewish Romanian Pastor during the Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe. He was arrested for his church activities and was tortured in prison for not denouncing Christ. He continued his Christian activities in prison and wrote that he once baptized a prisoner with a cup of water. God will show mercy to a repentant soul. Changing your life for the better is more important than where or when you were baptized. If God calls you to be baptized as an adult, then you should do it. Always seek God's calling. It may not be necessary to get re-baptized every time one backslides. Only repentance is needed. There is a strong Christian tradition in preaching the word and baptizing.I was baptized the catholic way, but I was told it is no good. It has got to be done the right way, a full immersion.

That's nonsense. Catholic Baptism is perfectly valid, we've been doing it the same way since the time of the Apostles, and since Baptism is permanent there's no need to go through the motions a second time.I was baptized the catholic way, but I was told it is no good. It has got to be done the right way, a full immersion.
Christ died and was raised on the third day. At the very moment that He stated "it is finished", the curtain that separated the Holy of Holy's and the rest of the world ripped from top to bottom. There is no separation from you and Christ. But I feel the need to confess my sins also. I'm desperate. What should one do? I have asked for the spirit but I find nothing but fear and travail.

What should I do. I feel I in stuck in rut. First of all who do think we're the first churches? They were the Latin and Greek branches of Christianity. If you were baptism by the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost you are christian. Have you made a personal commitment to Christ and know he is your Lord and savior? If you do you are christian and most likely saved. We're all sinners and fall short of the glory. The most important is to struggle with your faith and offer up your life to Christ. If you do that, repent and change your are not far off my friend.

Guerrier, lets say you were really "stuck in a rut" you were never baptized the Catholic Way and you find your self dying in a desert place, and a priest happened to pass by and sees you. You aware that you have never been baptized, cried out to the Priest telling the priest baptize me, however, the priest only had much less than a teaspoon of holy water that he was carrying in a small bottle with him, and with it, the priest pours the water over your head saying: I baptize you, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit baptized you, You are then BAPTIZED

Guerrier, the point is: it does not take quantity / gallons and gallons water to be baptized, it only Just takes water.
Guerrier, The rut you are stuck is to believe that you are not baptized and that God does not have the power to baptized you with a sprinkle of water over your head.
Thanks.
Baptism is not a requirement of salvation anyway. Any more than wearing a wedding ring makes you married.I was baptized the catholic way, but I was told it is no good. It has got to be done the right way, a full immersion.
