Long ago, a very wise and learned Christian told me that when reading the Bible I should always consider two very important things.
1. Consider who is talking.
2. Consider who he is talking to.
Poor Paul has been maligned as a misogynist and just plain woman hater for...well, for a very long time.
Turns out he was one of our biggest champions...

To address your desire not to exist... I've dealt with that a lot myself, and like Hannah, it's taken me prayer, just asking God to put in me a desire to live and do His will, and I had to do that often for a few months. Over time, He has taken away my desire to cease to exist and is helping me just be. Prayer is definitely where you will find comfort, answers, & relief.
