Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
And apparently, Adam resembling Jesus is apparently of no consequence to this discussion?
You're not seriously suggesting that the crucifixion didn't take place circa 30 AD but rather before the events in Gen 1 took place? I suppose this is the logical conclusion of unbridled literalism. Do you really need someone to explain the verse to you?
Mallon,
Its more like a glove and a hand. The glove is in the image of the hand, to contain the hand. Man has the the capacity for love, patience, kindness, etc. This is the image of God and is why man is so unique in creation.
M.
Exactly. We display God's image when we display these spiritual qualities. If we were evolved insects instead of evolved apes, we would still be in God's image if we had the capacity for love, patience, kindness, etc. It is not what we are physically that makes us uniquely capable of bearing God's image.
