    self diagnosed

Yes, black and white thinking is a tendency. Just to let you know how much experience I have had in the area of mental health, look up 'insulin coma therapy', if you don't already know what it is. I had it when I was 18 years old. Lots of ECT, major neuroleptics, etc. No meds for years...

    self diagnosed

Thanks. Before I took the test I decided to be totally honest, and I scored so high that the diagnosis is definite. All my life I have struggled with something that had a hold on me; I was treated for depression, schizophrenia, bipolar etc. Nothing helped--the feelings of abandonment...

dealing with unbearable shame and condemnation

The pastor's wife doesn't understand what you experience when you perceive rejection. I said 'perceive' because it is far more about your perception than about the rejection. I have actually stopped going to Church because a few people always seem to look at me in a rejecting manner. I'll be...

A pleasure to support you. I just read about DBT on Wikipedia and this should help you. God bless, Botham

    Insults

First, if you have BPD, as I do, remember that your tendency is to exaggerate the past negative experiences. On that basis, ask the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus Christ, to enter your thinking. Invite Him as you would your most trusted friend, because He is only good, only love, and only...

The Pope believes in evolution? Old news!

Do animals, in your opinion, know that they exist? I eat beef. I would hate that the animal I'm eating knew they existed. Animal rights proponents, admittedly not all but a few, would say I am cruel and don't clearly see what I am doing. Interestingly, every cell in the creature I would eat...

Pope: Evolution, Big Bang do not contradict belief in God

It does seem to me, having read the Pope's comments, that he is accepting mainstream evolutionary teaching. His point seems to be the same as others who don't think it important as to how God created; just that He created. To me this something like another debate, it being in the realm of...

Pope: Evolution, Big Bang do not contradict belief in God

We cannot fault you on the ability to summarize the motivation for OT writings. It could be the extent of the gulf is prohibitive in terms of discussion; I detect a certain intransigence that, if responded to by a similar fundamentalist Christian summary of motivations, would do no more than...

Pope: Evolution, Big Bang do not contradict belief in God

There is something that bothers me about the speed of light and the size of the universe. We know that galaxies are, according to physics, millions if not billions of light years away. So what we are seeing is not the galaxy as it is now, but what it was millions of years ago. So goes the...

Pope: Evolution, Big Bang do not contradict belief in God

Yes, thank you for the information. I can't concentrate fully on such a long article, but an interesting aspect was that of 'chance'. One clergy alluded to the process of evolution appearing to be a process of chance to our finite mind but to God, something He ordains and therefore not chance...

Pope: Evolution, Big Bang do not contradict belief in God

First, I love Catholic Christians. As in all denominations, there are mere Church attenders and then there are Christians. Their general stance is pro life and pro family, societal positions that are Godly and Biblical. Catholics also have many unresolved issues such as women as priests and...

Tongues- a sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost?

I do not personally have the gift of tongues but when someone speaks in their prayer language at a service I sense the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. It is edifying and leaves me in no doubt that the individual so speaking has broken through the barrier of their literal language used...

I took a test online and scored very high for a definite diagnosis of BPD I'm going to see a secular therapist to begin with just to verify the diagnosis. Our Church has a support group.
